Our Consultants

Bruce Barnard is the Managing Director of Crossover. He has been working in the marketing field for over 30 years, and in the golf industry for over 15. His first major role in marketing was Product Group Manager for Hotpoint, GEC and English Electric, where he was responsible for the full range of marketing activity for all three ranges of cookers in the UK , from new product research to sales. He then became UK Marketing Manager for GTE Sylvania, which at the time was the 35th largest company in the world. The UK sector of this Swiss-owned conglomerate needed modernising, and Bruce worked on achieving this within their electrical product ranges. After that, he moved to Viners Silverware, as Marketing Director, where he supervised over 180 members of staff, before becoming Managing Director of Sentra Consumer Products, marketing hi-fis to the UK market.

Bruce started Crossover 10 years ago. He holds a HNC in Business Studies, a Diploma in Management Studies, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Denise Weatherup is a Strategic Marketing specialist with a BA Hons in Marketing and French and 18 years practical marketing experience in a variety of industry sectors, including retailing (Marks & Spencer, Radio Rentals and Foremost Golf) and Business to Business (English China Clays, Alcatel, Thorn).

Denise has worked on both the client and agency side in marketing management, research and new business development roles, and also has broad experience of managing and executing successful marketing programmes including TV and press advertising, direct marketing campaigns, promotional literature, below the line promotions and the launch of a consumer magazine title.

Jenni O’Connor comes from a broad-based marketing background which has included Business to Business, PR and retail. She worked for an international multi-divisional engineering firm for three years, where she was responsible for elements of corporate identity, as well as general marketing activity, internally and externally. After that she spent a further three years as marketing manager for Barbados’ largest shopping mall, where her responsibilities included marketing budgeting and planning, devising and co-ordinating all aspects of marketing activity. She has extensive experience of PR, advertising, event management, website development and the production of marketing materials.

She is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and has also worked as a freelance journalist, designed and run a holiday bookings website company, and speaks fluent French and Spanish.

Rob Clay joined Crossover Business Developments in May 2003. Prior to this Rob worked at BT plc in various marketing roles, developing a broad base of skills and experience. His primary role was developing industry-specific marketing propositions for BT’s corporate clients, where an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the client’s business was required. He has a proven track record in strategic marketing, market research, direct marketing, campaign design and delivery and production of marketing materials.

Rob has a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies and is also a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
